Headline Expenditure Projections
Computer Hardware Sales: USD2.7bn in 2014 to USD2.9bn in 2015, growth of 8.2%. We also expect a resurgence in traditional form factor sales in 2015 while tablet sales will remain robust, although there is downside risk from consumer substitution of tablet for phablet purchases.
AV Sales: USD1.2bn in 2014 to USD1.2bn in 2015, an increase of 3.2%. The AV segment is again forecast to underperform, but after a precipitous decline in digital camera volumes in 2013 and 2014, we expect the market to stabilise form 2015.
Handset Sales: USD3.2bn in 2014 to USD3.3bn in 2015, growth of 4.4%. Saturation in the core smartphone market, combined with price erosion as vendor competition intensifies, will limit value increases from 2015.
