Canada Defence & Security Report Q3 2014
The Canadian military is in a period of transition that we believe will last for several years, as the government winds down operations abroad and focuses more on domestic priorities. However, we expect that Canada will retain its vocal role as a member of NATO, weighing in on global developments it views as key to its own security either directly or indirectly. We expect that defence trade will continue to be characterised by high imports and exports of military hardware, although these flows could see something of a drop due to a more constrained fiscal environment in the coming years.
