Cigarettes had 2% volume sales decline and reached 7,351 million sticks in 2012. This decline was due to a taxation increase on sales. Cigarettes' average unit price increased to DKK1.65 per stick in 2010. On 1 April 2012 the Danish government raised taxation again by DKK3.00 per 20-cigarette pack.
